Meet Melissa, the owner & Founder

Part of this Community

Kentucky Moving Boxes is locally owned by a woman named Melissa who resides in Harrison County near Cynthiana.

Melissa is a mom of four children and has been married to her high school sweetheart, Eric, for almost 25 years.

Originally from Indiana, she and her family have had plenty of experiences moving. Since relocating to Kentucky in 2019, they have already moved three times with the last move landing them in a tiny town between Georgetown and Williamstown, KY. It’s in this location that this business launched and where they hope to grow roots and build community.

Melissa has a passion for helping women and families grow their faith and live intentionally. She has a virtual coaching business helping women and also hosts a podcast that is now ranked in the top 2.5% of all podcasts in the world, called Priorities on Purpose.

She saw an Opportunity to Help!

Melissa has moved around enough over the years to understand the stress of moving.

Whether you are single, an empty nester, or have a house full of a big family, moving is hard. Studies show that next to death and divorce, moving is the 3rd most stressful thing we go through.

She understands that she can’t take the emotions and grief away from you but she can make it easier by providing a simple solution to the nightmare of collecting boxes and trying to fit them all in a moving truck with all the different sizes. These boxes are pre-assembled, easy to use, water-resistant, one size fits most, and stack perfectly on top of each other saving space, time, and your sanity.

Once you use our crazy good boxes, you will never want to use cardboard again. We currently serve those who live in Georgetown, Cynthiana, Corinth, Berry, Stamping Ground, Williamstown, Sadieville, and Owenton. However, if available, she is willing to deliver in additional areas.

How we were created

When it came time to put their home on the market and prepare for showings with her last move, Melissa bought totes from Walmart to clear the clutter and start packing up things they knew they wouldn’t be using. This quickly started adding up– but she loved how it looked and stacked neatly. During this time she also ran across a moving box rental company in Canada and immediately recognized this was the answer to everyone’s moving problems. It makes moving easier and is way more cost-efficient. After a little research and realizing there was nothing like it in the area, she knew she had to launch it and bring it with her to Georgetown, Kentucky. After all, people will need moving help there also. At the end of the day and all of the moves throughout the years, life has fully prepared her for this business and she is excited to provide a solution to the cardboard moving box dilemmas.

Plans for the Future

As an entrepreneur, previous business coach, and visionary, Melissa knows the sky is the limit. We hope to expand to create more employment opportunities in additional locations to support more of Kentucky and surrounding states. After all, people everywhere deserve to know about and use our crazy good boxes so they can relocate with a stress-free and easy move also.

The craziest & messiest move in the history of ever for Melissa…

Let’s start by saying the year was 2020… We sold our house we referred to as the ‘nightmare house’ to move 10 minutes down the road out into the country. At closing, there were zero boxes packed with the expectation that we had 10 days to get possession of the new home and give possession of the old home to new owners. However, we ended up with immediate possession. And, of course, this meant immediately moving in. When I say we used trash bags and random totes, I’m not exaggerating. I’m sure there were some boxes we were able to scavage and find but it was a disaster. After way too many trips back and forth and numerous items broken, the move was finished. Looking back now, I wish I would have had our crazy good boxes. It would have simplified the entire moving process and made our move so much easier.
